History

The Dolau Inn is a historic pub located in Mochdre, Powys, Wales.

The Inn is believed to date back to the early 19th century and has been a popular gathering place for the local community and visitors alike for around 200 years.

In the early days, the Dolau Inn served as a vital stopover for drovers, who were responsible for herding livestock from rural areas to urban markets. The drovers would traverse long distances on foot or horseback, and the inn provided them with a much-needed respite from their arduous journey.

During the early 1800's, Mochdre had a thriving woollen and flannel industry which brought new prosperity to the area. The Dolau would serve as a local Inn for the workers of the 3 mills and the numerous small cottage industries and local farming community.
